The bokeh is natural of course and created by the sunset falling through gaps in the trees in my backyard. The daisies were from a whole bunch I bought. They were originally purple. Note: I wasn't going to use this photo for anything at all at first. I wanted to use this image to test actions out but in the end, when I found a really nice combination of lieveheersbeestje's actions, I wanted to post it. Most of my photos I edit myself or use a combination of actions, never just one. I used lieveheersbeestje's sharpening actions and a few bright/summer ones to make this slightly vintage summer one. To download some of her actions to use in photoshop, follow this link: [link] This photo's dedicated to Variya, my dear friend who we will all miss so much over the summer. Thanks, Variya, for letting me have a great time this year. You'll forever be in our hearts. And although you're not dead, it's gonna feel like it next year as we move on without our fluffer, spazzer, and Variya
Oh, this is how it starts, lightning strikes the heart It goes off like a gun, brighter than the sun Oh, we could be the stars, falling from the sky Shining how we want, brighter than the sun
Simple, but really beautiful! Let me start out by telling you that the bokeh here is gorgeous! Without it, this photo would have been very dull and not original. The golden bokeh fits with the slightly golden tone of the picture, and it makes it much more interesting how it wasn't scattered throughout the picture's background, but on the top of the photo. Originality... well, there are quite a lot of photos on dA like this, but the placement of the flower makes this picture different from the others. I don't know if you used the Rule of Thirds on this, but the flower and picture stood out since the plant wasn't just smack in the middle. It didn't cover some of the bokeh either! And it was also a good thing that you edited the flower so it was a soft pink, and not a purple. A purple daisy would have looked out of place. Also, there isn't any harsh, over saturated colors. The only thing that was distracting was the white line/glare that ran through the middle of the picture. Without it, the photograph would have looked much more appealing. I personally would have liked the bokeh to be a liiiitle bit rounder too. (But that's just my opinion.) Great job!
